Design Process

Good design doesn't happen in isolation. To deliver results every design decision must be made from a thorough understanding of your business and what you want to achieve, how to maximise your budget and how your target audience behaves. This is where our years of project management experience and deep design approach will pay dividends.

You will get exactly what you want and nothing you don't, as well as better financial control and no nasty budget surprises. We can roll-out a project in phases to meet your business objectives and budget – perhaps you need an initial online presence now that builds and develops over time?

We use the MoSCoW principle to prioritise every design aspect and ensure you're getting maximum value for money.

How We Work For You

Your requirements are unique and how we'll meet them will be, too. However, a typical design path is laid-out below:

1. Initial Discussion

Your time is valuable and so the first thing we will do is identify your requirements to gauge the scope, timescales and costs. We will give you all the advice you will need to make the right decisions.

2. Business Analysis

A critical phase in the process. You don't need our experience to tell you that every minute spent understanding your business, your audience and the specific needs of the design represents much bigger time-savings down the line. We won't rush this phase but our experience means we're expert at homing-in on the important drivers and quickly producing the BIG idea.

3. Getting Creative

Here's where the BIG idea starts moving from concept to reality. We will take the business analysis and create the right proposal to effectively realise the BIG idea and get the results you're after. This phase will define the look and feel of the design and we only proceed when you're totally happy.

4. Development

Producing the finished design to meet all your requirements and technical specifications (be they web standards or printing house specs). The good news is we won't just disappear on you. We will keep you up-to-date with plenty of opportunities to review and give feedback on the design's progress.

5. Implementation

With the finished design complete and everything to your satisfaction we will ensure smooth and faultless implementation. For websites we can arrange hosting, upload the site and submit it to the major search engines; for print work we'll send the design for production, printing or publishing and monitor the progress.

6. Ensuring your success

Having got to know you and your business we can advise you on ways to keep your competitive edge. From advice on new ideas, technologies, trends and products to analysing website statistics and refreshing or creating supporting materials… we're here to build on the success of your designs.

Effective design is all about communication. To start yours, let's talk.

Welcome to MoSCoW

The MoSCoW principle allows your requirements to be prioritised to suite your business and budget:

Must Have
Essential requirements, without which the project would be ineffective
Should Have
Important requirements, but for which there are short-term alternatives
Could Have
Requirements that can be set aside for the future without major impact
Want to Have
Beneficial factors that can wait until time and budget allow

This project management technique is taken from the agile DSDM methodology – keeping you involved in your project during the design process.

‘The Big Reveal’ might work for make-over TV shows, but it very rarely works for effective communication design!
